Below are the official nominees for the 2007 Filmspots.  Thirty-three people submitted nominating ballots — for a total of 1,980 votes, plus revisions — and fifty-seven different films earned at least one nomination. Thanks!

Here is how the voting process will work:

Voting begins now. No need to rush, though, especially if you have catching up to do.

You have 1 vote per category. Here's how we would like the ballot to be formatted:

Simply copy the listing below, including the list of nominated films at the bottom, and delete every film in each category that you have not seen. Then place an asterisk to the left of the film you are voting for. Sample:

Best Picture
     Atonement
     Juno
     No Country for Old Men
     Ratatouille
     *Zodiac

Ballots are due Friday, February 15th.  Please send them via PM to both pixote and myself. We will announce the winners the evening of Monday, February 18th.

Great job!

If 300 or Pirates 3 is the worst movie people have seen then they haven't seen many bad movies. There are worse by far (Epic Movie, The Number 23, Ghost Rider, Next), but whatever.

Apparently, we all prefer to watch good movies Smiley

The only thing I am bummed about is I Don't Want to Sleep Alone not making the cut, I obviously needed to take lobbying seriously Tongue

How long do I have to watch the 25 movies I haven't seen?

Once again, thanks for your work P&B.

We're still debating about the deadline, but you have at least another 3 weeks.

I do admit to watching bad movies that I know will be bad on purpose if only to laugh at them. Personally, if anything other than Epic Movie gets crowned as Worst Movie then I'll just have to console myself with Plan 9 From Outer Space.

Once I regroup, I plan to post some stats and such about what missed the cut, etc.  If you have any question about specific (unnominated) nominees, let me know.

With one more point (a third-place vote or better), I Don't Want To Sleep Alone would have been among the nominees for Best Non-English Language Film.

Hmm, maybe you would have preferred not to know that... Sorry!

The tricky part is convincing me and others to sit down and watch Epic Movie so that we're qualified to vote for it...

There are worse ways to spend your time. Getting shot, learning calculus, roaming around Bed Bath & Beyond.

There were lots of close calls: Once for best picture and Ulrich Muhe and Emile Hirsch for best actor among them.
