From worst to slightly less terrible.
1. Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009)
It reminded me of Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring. Simple to execute, open to whatever you want to bring to it. There is a little amount of shameless manipulation, mostly during the owner's initial bonding with Hachi and the unnecessary bookends. The rest is earnest as you can imagine and pretty marvelously executed with a gentle hand by Lasse Hallström. (His best movie?) It must be added that the casting of Hachi at various ages is remarkable. Together they create the entire span of one amazing looking dog.
RATING: * * * - Very Good
I dislike both Hachi and the original. They felt like films manufactured to get the audience to cry rather than a compelling story that happens to be sad. The US remake is also incredibly liberal in its use of music cues to make the audience tear up which is probably the #1 thing a film can do to make me dislike it.

With that said, the Japanese original is better, mostly because it feels more honest. I disliked it because I didn't like what it was doing, whereas the remake I disliked because I didn't like what it was doing and also disliked how it was doing it.
I know I'm in the minority on this film but I just can't stand the directorial choices. The whole thing is shameless manipulation.

Out of the few I've seen:

(From Worst to best)
1. Harry Potter??
2. Kill Bill Vol. 1
3. Relatos salvajes (Wild Tales)
4. The Dark Knight Rises
5. Prisoners
6. Star Wars Episode VII
7. Logan ( I think it could be one of the best Marvel Movies of all time, but Top50?)
8. Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (Yeah it's a good movie but it shouldn't be above Laputa, Mononoke, Hotaru no Haka, Totoro or other Ghibli movies; not to mention the non-ghbili anime movies)

The Shawshank Redemption - a fine movie but so far from top movie of all time it's utterly absurd
12 Angry Men - again
V for Vendetta - gimme a break, this is a 5/10 at best
The Sting - 70s cheese
Pan's Labyrinth - like most GDT movies theres a few interesting ideas and set pieces but doesn't add up to much

I haven't even watched any of the batman movies.  just a very low priority for me

edit: and I haven't seen any of the Indian films on there.

A lot of people here love V for Vendetta.

7. Logan ( I think it could be one of the best Marvel Movies of all time, but Top50?)

Very recent movies score very highly for a few weeks and then get down to more regular levels. Also, not an MCU movie. It's Fox-verse.

V for Vendetta is pretty terrible. The comic is much better.

All movie opinions are available for people to have so long as they confirm with my own. This one gets a pass because I'm not super attached to that movie, though I do like it.
