Matty Ballgame, you are so off the mark on this one! Adam is right, this is classic Cronenberg in a number of ways. Wright's script is superbly crafted and I think this film is just as great a companion piece to Dirty Pretty Things as it is to A History of Violence. The performances are top notch, but I'd actually give biggest props to Vincent Cassel for making a character that easily could have been one-note constantly surprising and interesting.
That said, even though you're very wrong in this case, Matty, I do enjoy your contributions to the show (past and present) and think you're a fine addition to the program.
I was just happy that I recognized the music on the show and didn't have to look it up for a change.
Correction to my post, the screenwriter's name is Steven Knight, not Wright. :)
