Cinecast Special Edition: Overlooked Road Movies

You know what's really overlooked, Cinecast? My @#!& acting chops!

Overlooked DVD Picks of the Week: With so many great road movies to choose from for last week's Top 5, Adam and Sam had a couple left over worth sharing. And they couldn't be more different. Adam went to the art-house for his pick; Sam went to the out-house... er, the drive-in.

Note: If you notice some peculiar clicking noises in the background, you're not crazy. The Chicago Tribune assigned a photographer to come out and snap some photos of us 'in action' for a story.

Sam,

Right on with "Joy Ride". The category of the 'B' movie has kind of gone away, but this movie is everything that a "B" should be - an inexpensive, entertaining genre movie with one or two scenes that stick out.

My wife and I both enjoyed it in the theater five years ago, and though we haven't seen it since, we still quote that scene where Paul Walker's character tricks the wicked trucker, Rusty Nail, into the CB-version of cyber sex.

Paul Walker: What would you do to me Rusty Nail?
Rusty Nail: I'd take off your b-b-bra.

Classic. Best Paul Walker pic EVER.

Good one for sticking up for the reasonably trashy but fun Joy Ride. I enjoyed it on video (VHS - yuck!).

In the UK I think it was called "Road Kill". No idea why they changed the name. It's not as though we don't have the word joyride here.

I suppose Road Kill is a more apt title, but I assumed they were going for irony with the original US title.
